Eine Fotoserie dokumentiert die Ereignisse dieses Tags in Ludwigshafen, einem von drei Sammelpunkten der Pfalz. Von dort aus wurden 420 Männer, Frauen und Kinder verschleppt. Mit 21 Aufnahmen gehört die Serie zu den umfangreichsten fotografischen Zeugnissen einer Deportation aus Deutschland. Der Band widmet sich dieser besonderen Bildquelle der nationalsozialistischen Verfolgung von Jüdinnen und Juden und nennt, soweit möglich, die Namen der Opfer.     "abstract" : [ "Die Entscheidung zum Bau der Luftverteidigungszone West (LVZ-West) fiel im Mai 1938. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit entstand unter großem materiellen und personellen Aufwand eine Flak-Zone im Hinterland des im Bau befindlichen Westwalles. Auch der Luftraum wurde im Westen des Reiches in einem Kraftakt »befestigt«. Ab Anfang 1939 hatte die Luftverteidigungszone West neben ihrer militärischen Aufgabe eine bedeutende Rolle in der Propagandamaschinerie des Dritten Reiches. Mit Beginn des Westfeldzuges und dem Vormarsch der Wehrmacht Richtung Westen verlor die LVZ-West ihre Bedeutung, und die Ausbauarbeiten wurden Mitte 1940 eingestellt. Auch das kleine Eifeldorf Rodert bei Bad Münstereifel geriet ab Anfang 1939 in den Fokus des Militärs. Nach dem Bau einer Batteriestellung auf dem Radberg entstand durch zahlreiche Neu- und Umbauten das erste ortsfeste Führerhauptquartier Hitlers in Rodert. Das Militär hatte den abgelegenen Ort innerhalb weniger Monate nicht unbedeutend umgestaltet. Heute ist das Bewusstsein über diese Zone verschwindend gering. In Rodert sind nur bei genauer Kenntnis die wenigen Spuren bzw. Reste der LVZ-West und des Felsennestes erkennbar.Diese Bild-Dokumentation, ergänzt durch Zeitzeugenberichte, zeigt u. a. bisher unveröffentlichte und unbekannte Lichtbilder der Batteriestellung Rodert. Der Nachlass von zwei Luftwaffenangehörigen und einem Angehörigen des Führer-Begleitbataillons zeigt militärische Anlagen, Ausstattungen und den Alltag der Soldaten, die auf ihren unterschiedlichen Positionen und zu unterschiedlichen Zeitpunkten ihren Dienst in Rodert zwischen Ende 1939 und Mitte 1940 zu verrichten hatten. Für den Betrachter sind sie ein geöffnetes Zeitfenster in die Geschichte der LVZ-West, des Führerhauptquartiers Felsennest und des Dorfes Rodert bei Bad Münstereifel." ],

Auch so manche Räuberfinte und kriminalistische Geschichte ist in dem ansprechenden Buch zu finden.Im Pfälzischen Erbfolgekrieg brannten die Franzosen Städte, Dörfer und Burgen nieder und auch im 1. und im 2. Weltkrieg wurde die Region von Bombardements und Besatzungen nicht verschont. Bedingt durch diese Ereignisse haben etwa in der „Franzosenzeit“ (1794–1814) Räuberbanden hier ihr Unwesen getrieben und ihre Mitglieder wurden erbarmungslos bestraft, sobald man sie gefasst hatte.
